Creative Writers is a chapter book–focused program designed for students in Grade 3–6 who want to develop their writing skills and create their own original stories.
In this program, students learn creative writing in depth, including story ideation, character development, plot construction, and story structure. Through guided lessons, they will plan and write their own chapter-style story.
At the same time, students will illustrate key scenes from their story, allowing them to bring their ideas to life through both writing and visual art.
Students may write by hand or use their own laptop during class, and they will also learn how to edit and revise their work using basic editing techniques.
Students will develop their ideas into a complete story and learn how to express them clearly through both writing and illustration.
Over the course of the program, students will complete their own original story and book layout.
Students can take home their written work and illustrations at the end of the camp.
Families may also choose to have their book printed. The book is produced in Korea and shipped to Canada, and it typically takes about 2–3 months to arrive.
